Nicole Moehring is an award-winning author, disability advocate, and founder of Voices of Change 2018, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing abuse and advocating for individuals with disabilities.
After experiencing firsthand how the justice system failed her autistic son, Nicole committed her life to creating change. She now works with legislators, law enforcement, and communities to raise awareness, strengthen protections, and ensure that vulnerable individuals are not overlooked or dismissed.
Nicole is the author of Evan’s Voice, a powerful account of her son’s story and her family’s fight for justice. Through her advocacy, speaking, and writing, she continues to give a voice to those who are often unheard.
Her work is driven by one mission: to protect, empower, and bring justice to those who need it most.
In Part 2 of this powerful conversation, I sit down again with Nicole Moehring to go deeper into the reality of abuse, justice, and the challenges families face when navigating systems that don’t treat every child equally.
Nicole shares the heartbreaking truth of how her two children — both victims of abuse — were treated very differently. Her daughter was heard. Justice was served. But her son, who has autism, was not given the same voice… and his case remains unresolved.
This episode goes beyond the story. It reveals the deeper issues that many families face — especially those raising children with disabilities — and why awareness, education, and advocacy are more important than ever.
This conversation goes beyond the surface. We talk about
Why some victims are taken seriously… and others are not
The hidden risks children with disabilities face
The emotional toll of navigating a broken system
Why abuse is often not reported — and who is really responsible
How Nicole turned her pain into purpose through Voices of Change
The importance of education, prevention, and ongoing conversations

A powerful conversation about justice, disability, and what happens when the system fails the most vulnerable.
New episodes every week. Real stories. Real transformation.
